How are you? Have you had a good summer?

I had a lovely one with all of that glorious sunshine that seem to go on and on! And, there’s been an exciting development here at Gedling Colonics that I’ll tell you about shortly.

But first, I feel compelled to touch upon some national events. Since the last time I wrote to you we’ve had to deal with the loss of two amazing ladies.

The passing of our dear monarch is obviously on everyone’s mind at the moment. The Queen was such an inspiring lady and all of us at Gedling Colonics would like to express our sympathy to her family and our thanks for her lifetime of service.

The second woman I need to mention is Deborah James, or Bowel Babe as she became widely known. Her brave battle with bowel cancer was heart-wrenching to watch but the publicity she has raised around this awful disease is a huge testament to her and her strength of character.

Bowel cancer is much easier to treat when it’s caught early so it’s important that you are aware of the possible symptoms and check for them regularly. The symptoms include:

• Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo
• A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit
• Unexplained weight loss
• Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason
• A pain or lump in your tummy

Most people who have these symptoms won’t have cancer, other conditions can cause them too. But, it’s crucial that you don’t ignore them, and that you go and see your GP, at the first signs of any of them.

After the serious, but vital, start to this newsletter I’m happy to have some positive news to share with you.

We are really excited to announce that a new ARCH registered colon hydrotherapist has joined the Gedling Colonics team!

Sarah Weston MACH RT will be working alongside me, meaning we’re now able to offer you more appointments and decrease your wait times.

She’s has worked within the NHS for over thirty years and has extensive experience in dealing with, and understanding, a variety of conditions and medications.

Due to suffering from IBS, she’s been having colon hydrotherapy treatments for numerous years now and so knows, first-hand, how beneficial the treatment is.

Welcome to the team, Sarah!
